Great podcasts and blogs

There are some fantastic podcasts and blogs out there (well, apart from my blog on this site) that have content about loneliness, connection and authenticity.

These are some of the ones that I regularly read and/or listen to.

Do you have any suggestions for me? Send me a message!

The Lonely Diplomat podcast

I have a podcast to help diplomats and those living the diplomatic life to reconnect to themselves and the world around them. The content covers issues about loneliness and connection to self, others and to where we are in the world.

Lee Suckling - Wise Old Millennial

A seven-minute podcast from lifestyle columnist - and my friend - Lee Suckling.

Tim Ferriss - The Tim Ferriss Show

Extremely popular podcast from the bestselling author and human guinea pig. His fear-setting exercise helped me come out (see episode #422).

Brene Brown - Unlocking Us

Dr Brown is my intellectual crush. She has spent the past two decades studying courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy and is the author of five #1 New York Times bestsellers. A life goal is to sit and have a good chat with her.

The Minimalists

I love the power of simplicity. It frees me of the mental, emotional and physical clutter in my life and allows me to focus on who, and what, is important to me. The Minimalists - Joshua Fields Millburn & Ryan Nicodemus - help over 20 million people live meaningful lives with less through their website, books, podcast, and documentary.

Australian Broadcasting Corporation - Co

I love this podcast so much. So many interesting people having a real conversation about themselves and their stories.

Oprah Winfrey - Super Soul Conversations

Do you even listen to podcasts if you don't listen to this one? A life goal is to be interviewed by Oprah under those trees...

Mark Groves - Mark Groves podcast

Mark Groves, a Human Connection Specialist, explores the complex world of relationships and connection. What underlies our connection with ourselves and others? Why do we show up the way we do in our romantic relationships, professional life, friendships, our own health and wellness and more? How do we maintain long term connections that thrive? Mark has a fun, no holds barred, no BS approach to exploring the human condition and the fundamentals of all our human connections.

Australian Broadcasting Corporation - Th

This is a special series on how to find community and connection amidst coronavirus - and the importance of community and connection in general. It's hilariously funny, too.

The Lonely Diplomat

I've been writing another blog on loneliness and connection for diplomats and those living the diplomatic life since August 2018. My words are read by people in over 195 countries globally.

Wellismo Coach

This is the blog of Michael Dilorio who is a gay life and wellness coach based in Toronto. I find his work hugely beneficial and inspiring, especially his focus on issues dealing with our minds, souls and sexuality. Check out his work!

Mark Groves - Mark Groves podcast

Groves’ work makes me feel like I can do anything so long as I remain true to who I am. I recommend his work to so many people. His Instagram page (@createthelove) is extremely follow-worthy and has a knack of posting exactly what I need to see at exactly the right time.

Mike Campbell - Man Coach

I first discovered Mike's work through his blog. It really resonated with me. Now he's my friend, coach and mentor. I also do some coaching work with him in his School of Personal Mastery. Mike is a men's coach, author, presenter, and... Man. He helps men who are questioning where they're at in life to turn, face, & overcome their shit so they can help themselves and others, so they can get what they want in their career, relationships, & life, without the guilt & hang-ups.

Thrive Global

Thrive Global is all about the importance of connection to self - chiefly through self-capacity management - as a way to put ourselves into the world in a sustainable way.

Gretchen Rubin

This was the first blog that I followed and found Rubin's thoughts insightful. I have my own thoughts on happiness as a goal. I prefer to think that I have a choice to happy in any situation and have a goal to be content in life. Perhaps this is something for me to consider further in an article? Anyway, Rubin's work is really helpful.
